“What happened actually?” Pace asked.
Xi Men sat at the couch in the living room, slowly taking off his scarf. He had not talked since the incident. He only looked around them and then would be silent, seemingly getting into deep thoughts.
“You suddenly ask me to stop, do you know I can get summon or accident?” Vanness said, slightly in the mad tone.
“Vanness,” Ken said as he looked at him. “Don’t talk to Xi Men like that,”
“He just said ‘Xiao You’ and asked me to stop!” Vanness yelled.
“Xiao You?” Rainie asked, and then she turned looking at Xi Men. “You saw Xiao You?”
“Saw Xiao You?” Vanness repeated after Rainie and he straight went blur. He didn’t realize Xi Men could have saw Xiao You or something that triggers him to call for her name!
Xi Men looked at Rainie, and then just turned and stood up, slowly walking off to the backyard, still without saying a word. His face has been blank and expressionless the whole time.
“What is wrong with him?” Barbie asked.
“He’s been like that in the car,” Winnie said.
“Really? I’ll ask him,” Rainie smiled as she turned to follow his trail.
“Honey,” Ken called out.
“What is it?” Rainie asked, as she stopped and turned looking at him.
“I…” Ken stammered.
“What is it, honey?” Rainie asked as she walked to Ken.
“Take it easy, I think Xi Men is not in a good mood,” Ken said, brushing her hair and patting her head.
“Ok,” Rainie smiled and gave him a kiss on his lips before walking to the backyard.
Ken smiled as he looked at Rainie walking out. There is sadness in his smile.
Pace looked at Ken. “Ken, are you alright?” she asked.
“Yes,” Ken smiled. “I’m fine,”
Vic looked at Winnie. Winnie takes a glance at him, and then walked off to her room. Vanness looked at Vic, who is still looking at Winnie.
“Go and talk to her, this time, nicely,” Vanness said patting his back.
Vic looked at Vanness.
“Yeah, go and talk to her,” Jerry and Ken said together.
Vic nodded and walked to the stairs.
Jerry, Vanness and Ken looked at Vic. Vic has always been defensive on not wanting to talk to Winnie, but why is he following their advice now without much effort?
Vic knocked on Winnie’s room.
“Coming!” Winnie said. She walked to the door and opened it with a smile. When she saw it’s Vic, her smile immediately disappeared. “You…”
“Can I come in?” Vic asked, gently.
Winnie nodded as she opened the door wide and let Vic walked in, her head dunked down.
Vic walked in and sat on the bed. “You hook your hand on Xi Men’s arm,”
“Yes,” Winnie responded as she closed the door shut and did not look at him.
“Why are you doing that?” Vic asked.
“He’s not comfortable out in public. I want to make sure he feels fine. Plus, it is none of your business,” Winnie said, finally looked up and looked at him.
Vic stood up and looked at Winnie. Winnie looked at him. Vic walked closer. Suddenly, Vic wrapped his arms around Winnie. Winnie stunned with what he did.
“I don’t feel alright when you do that onto another man,” Vic said.
“Vic…” Winnie said.
“Dear, don’t do that onto me anymore, ok? I’m sorry. I’m really sorry,” Vic said, in the tight embrace.
Winnie then wrapped her arms on Vic. “I’m sorry if that hurts you…”
“It’s ok… as long as you are with me…” Vic said. “I’m sorry for everything,”
“I’m sorry too, Vic…” Winnie said.
Vic looked at her, and she smiled. He leaned over and kissed her passionately.
Nothing feels better than an after-fight kiss.
Rainie sat next to Xi Men. Xi Men looked out to the scenery of Taipei and playing with the ring on his finger. Though the sky is not completely dark yet, the scenery is beautiful yet captivating. It took quite some time before Xi Men turned and looked at Rainie.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
“You finally talk,” she smiled. He looked at her with the glare like she is not welcome. “You didn’t know I was here all the while?”
“I know. I only didn’t turn to look at you,” he said, and turned back looking to the scenery. “What are you doing here?” he repeated his question, touching his ring.
“We are concern about you. We don’t know what happened and we hope we can help you,”
“There is nothing you can do,” Xi Men said.
“Then what happened just now?” Rainie asked.
Xi Men looked at her. He then looked out to the scenery. If the asker is not Rainie, he wouldn’t even bother to answer. “I saw Xiao You,”
“You really saw her? So my guessing was right when Vanness said you mention ‘Xiao You’ earlier,” Rainie said.
“Yes,” Xi Men said. “But when Vanness stopped the car, she lost in the crowd, and I cannot see her,”
“But are you sure it’s her? You know, there are a lot of people…”
Xi Men turned harshly and interrupt her with a frustrated voice, “Yes, I am sure it’s her! How can I get mistaken for that particular face that I have missed for years? How can you doubt it’s her when I tell you it’s her?!” he looked at her sharply.
Rainie stunned, looking at the fiery Xi Men. “I’m…”
“You can doubt anyone but her!” he yelled.
Rainie stammered. “I’m sorry…”
Xi Men took a deep breath as he buried his face in his hands. “I miss her… I miss her very much…”
“I’m sorry, Xi Men… maybe I shouldn’t be here…” Rainie stood up. “I’m sorry…” she walked away, as tears formed in her eyes. She tried her best to cope with the tears.
Xi Men looked up, “Rainie?” he turned and his eyes followed Rainie’s trail.
Rainie didn’t turn back to look at Xi Men upon hearing him call, instead, she walked straight back into the mansion like she didn’t hear anything.
Xi Men buried his face in his hands again. “Sigh… I’ve been too harsh on Rainie because of Xiao You,” he looked up. “Why is it so unfair to me that my life has been taken away at a young age when I can see for myself that there are so many things waiting for me in the future?”
Rainie walked into the living room. Ken saw her and smiled.
“How was the talk?” Ken asked.
Rainie immediately run towards Ken and embraced him, and everyone looked at them when Rainie landed herself on him with a loud ‘thud’.
“Honey?” Ken asked worriedly.
Rainie sobbed hard on Ken’s chest, wetting his shirt.
“Honey, what’s wrong?” Ken asked. Rainie didn’t reply but continued sobbing. Ken patted on her head as she cried on. Something struck his mind. “What did Xi Men do onto you?”
“No,” Rainie said, in between her sobs. “He was just a bit… angry that I asked,”
“He is angry because you asked him? Because you concern for him?”
“No… it’s not like that… it’s…”
“Because I asked him for sure if the one he saw is Xiao You when there are so many people he possibly could have mistaken it’s her…”
“He saw Xiao You? And he is angry of you for that?”
“Honey, what I meant was… I doubted him for what he saw…”
“Ok… I got you… it’s alright, honey. He may be missing his fiancée too much so…”
“I know… I know… He yelled at me because I doubted him…” Rainie said. “I’ve apologized to him…”
“He yelled at you?!” Ken suddenly became furious, but seeing Rainie cried like this, his heart seemingly melted and his anger faded almost suddenly, “It’s alright, honey,” Ken hugged her tighter. “Don’t cry…”
“I’m sorry,” someone said suddenly.
They all turned, looking for the source of the voice. It’s Xi Men. Xi Men walked over to Rainie and Ken.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you,” Xi Men said again.
“It’s ok…” Rainie said, lifted up her head and looked at Xi Men as she wiped her own tears.
“Do you mind if I give her a hug?” Xi Men asked Ken. “As a sign of apology,”
Ken looked at Xi Men, and then at Rainie, who is looking at Ken too. Although Ken felt uneasy with the request, he smiled and nodded. “Sure,” he releases Rainie from the hug.
Rainie smiled at Ken and then she turned looking at Xi Men. Xi Men spread his arms wide. “Apology accepted?”
Rainie walked to Xi Men and hugged him. “Yes, apology accepted,”
Xi Men smiled as he hugged Rainie. “Hugging a human for the first time since I died,” he said. “Gosh… she reminds me of Xiao You…” he thought to himself. “Her warmth…”
“Man… you’re cold!” Rainie said.
“Yes, I am. What do you expect from a dead… I mean, ghost?” Xi Men smiled as he released her from the hug. “Sweet moments are short-lived,” Xi Men thought to himself. “When will I be able to feel the warmth of Xiao You again through Rainie?”
Rainie smiled, as Xi Men wiped the traces of tears on her cheek off.
Ken just smiled, as if what he sees does not bother him at all.
